Daryl J. Walker, Rohi 41st Honoree, is a very creative musician who serves as Minister of Music for the New Hope Baptist Church, in Denver Colorado and leads their Majestic Praise Choir. In 2004 Mr. Walker won the Director Extraordinaire Grand Design Inc. Performing Artist Award and founded the Walker Music Academy.
Under his direction, the academy provides guidance and education to individuals and organizations seeking to develop their proficiency
and understanding of gospel music.In 2008, he organized a mass choir
in Colorado, which included 38 different churches and organizations.
This choir performed at two events paying tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the March on Washington and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s "I Have a Dream" speech. The choir also preformed at a Unity Breakfast at the Denver Convention Center.
In 2009, Mr. Walker will continue working on a Master of Theological Studies degree at the Iliff School of Theology. Rohi Ministry honored Mr. Daryl Walker as the 41st honoree at our 10 year celebration held at Shorter A.M.E. Church in Denver Colorado.
