Tiara Wilson is an activist, writer, scholar, and pop culture enthusiast. She was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Denver in 2018.
Tiara has studied internationally at Nanjing University in Nanjing, China, and Akita International University in Akita, Japan. Tiara is pursuing a doctoral degree in East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Southern California.
She is currently working on a research project focused on Sinophone hip hop. Her research interests include Chinese Popular Culture, Korean Popular Culture, Gender, Identity, Afro-Asian Solidarity, and Social Movements.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Tiara works as a consultant specializing in educating community organizations and businesses on relevant local social justice issues and methods of organizing.
She has led multiple social justice workshops and curates engaging, socially conscious content for social media.
