History Of The “Walk It Out” Prayer Event

In the early summer of 2013, Minister J. Michael Thompson, founder of Rohi Ministry, set out for what he expected to be a brief walk around his neighborhood. Sensing a prompting to continue, he walked nearly half a mile to the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club area. As he paused to tie his shoe, he distinctly heard the Lord speak the words, "Just a Closer Walk." After discussing the event with the Board of Directors, it was decided that the name should have a broader appeal and resonate with the wider community. As a result, the event was renamed "Walk It Out Community-Wide Prayer." The new name reflected the vision of bringing together people from all walks of life in a united expression of faith, prayer, and community engagement.

When he stood up, his eyes immediately fell upon a sign for the High Line Canal Trail. At that moment, Minister Thompson knew God was revealing a purpose greater than a simple walk. He sensed that the Lord had a message to deliver along that canal and was calling him to help bring it to the community.

From this divine encounter, the Walk It Out" Community-Wide Prayer Event was born. What began as a personal walk of obedience became a united call to prayer, bringing individuals, families, churches, and community leaders together to seek God's presence, pray for the community, and walk in faith toward a greater spiritual purpose. The event was intentionally designed to inspire unity, encourage prayer, and cultivate a lasting impact throughout the community.
